According to the published investigation, two adults were travelling north on the North Klondike Highway from Whitehorse towards Pelly Crossing at about 5:00 am, accompanied by a young child who remained asleep throughout the journey. Rather than relying solely on the witnesses’ first estimates, Jasek later asked Leah Isaac to compare the apparent size of the object with known buildings in Whitehorse. These comparisons were then measured to estimate the viewing geometry.
This reconstruction suggested that the object’s closest approach may have been approximately 27 metres from the vehicle and around 10 metres in diameter. These figures were presented as revised estimates rather than precise measurements made during the encounter itself.
